It's an interactive fun-filled environment that includes singing, stories, free play and other opportunities to socialize and develop independence.
The program runs Monday-Friday from 8:
45 am-12:
15 pm and we are looking for dynamic part-time staff members to join our experienced team.
The program operates during the months of September through June and does not run when the West Hartford Public Schools are on holiday or are closed due to weather.
This is a part-time position with a set schedule of 2-3 days a week (max 10.
5 hours).
Qualifications:
Employment dependent on successful background check Have a high school degree or equivalent education Have at least 1 year of experience working with children and/or a certificate in early childhood education or currently working towards the completion of one Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children Have dependable transportation Required Expectations:
Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs Utilize developmentally appropriate and best practice methods at all times Be warm and nurturing Be a positive role model Responsibilities and Duties:
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Engage children in activity/play that stimulates their development Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times Assist children with activities of daily life (e.
g.
, diapering/restroom use, feeding, dressing) Facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for toddlers Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service Assist the Head Teacher in implementing curriculum and planning daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children Communicate with the Head Teacher regarding all aspects of the children's care as well as classroom management Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of ECC at all times Keep accurate accident/incident records and time-sheets.
Report all accidents/incidents immediately to Program Coordinator.
