Lean Manufacturing Engineer

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT.
The Lean Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading and deploying the best practices in the manufacturing organization by taking initiative to support continuous improvement in various manufacturing processes by reducing costs and improving the flow of material and setting up cycle times.
Will work towards achieving the manufacturing goals and objectives of the organization.
This position will lead, facilitate, execute, and manage projects to reduce the costs significantly by implementing Lean, and continuous improvement methodologies.
And uses their expertise to identify and recommend improvements by applying the relevant principles.
What Will You Do? Drives implementation/utilization of key Lean elements for all operations, such as 5S, Kaizen, Cellular Manufacturing, Kanban Replenishment, SMED, and Visual Management.
Develop principle work standards and line balancing for productivity.
Facilitate kaizen events with appropriate direction from the Lean Manager.
Optimize machining processes to reach product quality, efficiency and process repeatability.
Execute LEAN manufacturing techniques and design.
Optimize workflow and cell designs and introduce cost-effective automation for productivity and safety advantages.
Perform time studies to develop standard work.
Design machine and tools for new product or process.
Track and execute cost reduction for process improvements.
Initiate, communicate and manage investigations into process issues and quality (internal & external) issues to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and implement solutions.
Communicate Lean group's philosophy, vision and expectations.
Develop and sustain employees training and development on lean concepts.
Program management of the training system.
Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and record business improvement areas.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.
Highly hands-on and strong mechanical aptitude needed.
Strong Analytical & technical skills are needed for all product support activities.

Years in Lean /Continuous Improvement Environment.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience leading or participation Continuous Improvement efforts using Six-Sigma process methods and tools, across multiple functions of the business or related courses of study.
Successful project management experience or related courses of study.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to diverse teams and functions.
Demonstrated effective and professional presentation techniques and skills.
Strong leadership, team building, and motivation skills.
Ability to think creatively and strategically, and to take a proactive and aggressive goal-setting approach in developing a Lean culture.
Comfortable working with multiple departments.
