Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner for Medi-Weightloss Clinics, West Hartford, CT
The Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of the clinic physician according to the medical protocol set forth by Medi-Weightloss Clinics . Under general direction, provides patient care; conducts physical exams; completes health history summary; documents patients' progress; assists with patient care management.
The environment is fast-paced and the position is multifaceted.
Essential Job Functions
o Obtains and reviews patient's medical and psychosocial history information relevant to patient care
o Conducts physical examinations
o Orders and reviews laboratory studies as well as diagnostic procedures; including ECGs
o Assumes responsibility for prescribing and dispensing FDA approved appetite suppressants according to state and federal guidelines
o Reviews patient's progress and manages patient care accordingly
o Maintains all required documentation for patient care and medication management
o Facilitates referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as necessary and will communicate with collaborating physician and/ or specialist regarding patient's care
Non-essential Job Functions
o Provides training to clinical and non-clinical staff as needed
o Documents patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR.
o Conducts consultations with patients regarding the Medi-Weightloss Clinics program
o Performs other clinical duties as required
o Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient's progress and address any concerns
o Provides ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success
Requirements
Degree and license requirements specific to NY state
Specific experience desired

o Must be able to multi-task, apply critical thinking skills, and provide highest level of customer service at all levels of the operation
o Interpersonal / human relations skills
o Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both oral and written
o Ability to maintain confidentiality
o Ability to work with as part of the clinic team and corporate structure
o Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
